Amazon Inventory Data Analysis: Building an Interactive Stock Dashboard in Power BI

In the fast-paced world of E-commerce, managing stock and tracking inventory efficiently is critical for business growth. In this project, I performed an end-to-end data analysis on a real Amazon Sales and Inventory Dataset using Microsoft Power BI to help store owners optimize their supply chain.

📊 Project Overview:

The primary goal of this analysis was to transform a messy raw dataset into a clean, business-friendly interactive dashboard. This allows executives to monitor total stock levels and filter product performance by size instantly.

🛠️ Data Engineering & Cleaning:

Before creating any visuals, I loaded the dataset into Power Query to ensure data integrity:

- Removed unnecessary metadata columns (like Index and custom IDs) to optimize dashboard speed.

- Verified column data types (Text for categories and Whole Numbers for stock levels).

- Handled missing and null values to deliver 100% accurate charts.

📈 Key Insights & Features Revealed:
  1. Total Inventory Capacity: The dashboard dynamically tracks a massive overall stock availability of 242K active units embedded directly into the header for maximum scannability.
  2. Stock Breakdown by Category & Size: Implemented a tailored Stacked Bar Chart analyzing inventory across multiple fashion categories. "KURTA" dominates the warehouse volume, followed by "KURTA SET".
  3. Size Popularity Trend: Developed a clean, interactive Line Chart showing that size "S" leads the inventory with 42K units, followed closely by size "M" with 37K units, allowing store owners to optimize replenishment and avoid stockouts.
  4. Modern Executive UI: Designed an optimized Dark Mode theme to reduce visual fatigue and make critical metrics stand out sharply.
